Coolimba Power PERCoolimba Power Pty Ltd is proposing to develop up to 808 megawatts (MW) of electricity generation plant comprising 450MW of coal-fired base load generation and 358MW of gas fired peaking plant. The Coolimba Power Project is located 15km south of Eneabba, in the Mid West. The project requires the development of an infrastructure corridor that will include a 20km long gas pipeline lateral and an approximately 20km long 330kV electricity transmission line. Fuel for the project will be sourced from the adjacent Central West Coal deposit and either the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) or the Parmelia Gas Pipeline. Central West Coal Pty Ltd proposes to develop the Central West Coal Project located approximately 15km south-west of Eneabba. The Project is based on the mining of the 75million tonne sub-bituminous Central West coal deposit approximately 12km long and ranging from 0.27 to 2km wide.
Public Environmental ReviewCoolimba Power Pty Ltd prepared a Public Environmental Review (PER) in accordance with Western Australian Government procedures which has also been accredited by the Australian Government for the purpose of its environmental assessment. The PER describes the Coolimba Power proposal, examines the likely environmental effects and the proposed environmental management procedures associated with the proposed development.
